Organization Seeks to Fulfill Holiday Wishes for Impoverished Families, Foster Kids and At-Risk Youth

EWING/TRENTON, N.J., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- One of New Jersey's most innovative and fastest-growing nonprofit organizations, One Simple Wish ("OSW"), is calling on the community to join them in their effort to grant more than 500 wishes to impoverished families and foster children in NJ this holiday season.

"As the holidays grow nearer, we're receiving ten times as many wish requests as we have before. We want to give all of these individuals a beautiful, memorable holiday," says Executive Director Danielle Gletow.

Since December 2008, One Simple Wish has already granted over 300 wishes to those in need, many of them foster children in group homes around NJ. On their website at www.onesimplewish.org, donors can select a specific wish to grant, sorting by the wish recipient's age and gender as well as the type of wish and the cost. With most wishes ranging from $5-$100, wish granting is not only simple - it's affordable.

Wishes come in through OSW's network of Community Partners which consists of more than 20 social service agencies, group homes and community outreach programs in the tri-state area, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs, Anchor House, PEI Kids, LifeTies and NJ Foster and Adoptive Family Services.

"We enable donors to determine exactly where their money is going and to see a direct impact being made. It's very powerful knowing that you've made a real difference in someone's life, especially around the holidays," Gletow says.
