Sylvia Jordan Seeks Answers From FBI on Bribery Probe

Sylvia Jordan Seeks Answers From FBI on Bribery ProbePRNewswireSOUTHFIELD, Mich.Oct. 26

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Revelations that the FBI interviewed Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence and other city council members regarding the William Lattimore bribery case have prompted Southfield mayoral candidate Sylvia Jordan to find out the reasons for those interviews.

Especially since Lattimore pled guilty in August to taking a bribe related to securing the planned 2007 relocation and expansion of Zeidman's Jewelry and Loan to Southfield. All that appears to remain of the case is Lattimore's sentencing later this year. But the recent interviews of city officials by the FBI seem to indicate that the investigation doesn't end with Lattimore's plea.

"I demand that the Feds tell what the interview was about and why she (Lawrence) is being questioned after Lattimore has pleaded guilty?" Jordan said. "Many Southfield residents have asked me the same question and in all fairness to the residents of Southfield they deserve answers. The bribery case has put a dark cloud over the city of Southfield."

Jordan believes answers from the FBI regarding the interview of Lawrence and other city officials will go a long way to lifting that dark cloud off the city.

"I demand integrity and transparency from local government for the residents of Southfield," Jordan said.

Jordan plans to contact the FBI directly to find out the nature of the interviews with Lawrence.
