Hamilton County Prosecutor Confirms Issue 3 Committee Was Not Involved in Absentee Ballot IrregularitiesPRNewswireCOLUMBUS, OhioOct. 21

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ohio Jobs and Growth Committee today issued the following statement on the indictment of a single person in Hamilton County in connection with absentee ballot irregularities:

The indictment today of a single individual by a Hamilton County grand jury affirms what we believed to be the case from the beginning. According to the county prosecutor, the problems with absentee ballot applications in Hamilton County were limited to one person - an employee of a vendor that has since resigned its role in the campaign - and the Ohio Jobs and Growth Committee, the ballot committee sponsoring Issue 3, had no knowledge of the irregularities.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters, quoted in a news release from his office, said, "Our investigation at no time found any evidence that Ohio Jobs and Growth was involved in any criminal activity. They at all times acted cooperatively with the investigation. Any representation that they were the target of a grand jury investigation is entirely false."

We thank the Hamilton County Board of Elections, the county sheriff's department and the prosecutor for their swift investigation and disposition of this issue.

Today's action is a clear indication that the hysterical claims by the so-called "TruthPAC" - the anti-Issue 3 committee primarily funded by West Virginia gaming interests - were based on nothing except overheated campaign rhetoric.
