NEW YORK, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- American Media, Inc. (AMI) today announced that Philip Kearney has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media. Mr. Kearney has over 15 years of experience in online brand building, revenue generation, and audience development in the consumer product and publishing markets. He will report to AMI's Senior Vice President / Chief Information Officer, Dave Thompson.
As Senior VP/GM of Digital Media, Mr. Kearney will have responsibility for the company's 14 different web sites, including Radar Online. Focusing on product development and strategy, he will work with the various brands to continue to build and monetize their audiences while also providing on-going operational support to existing advertising, syndication, product development and marketing initiatives.
Mr. Kearney has spent the past 15 years serving as an executive consultant in the digital arena. During that time he wrote the digital brand strategies for Elle Magazine, Active Interest Media, Crispy Gamer and the online strategy for the soon-to-be released video game, Def Jam Rapstar. This past spring, Mr. Kearney was instrumental the launch of Radar Online, growing it from 300,000 unique visitors to over 3 million in six months. Since 1995, Mr. Kearney has worked with over 150 clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to new ventures.
