SAN JUAN, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is a statement by Puerto Rico Police Superintendent Jose Figueroa-Sancha:

Over the past weekend, the Puerto Rico Police Department responded to a drug-related shooting where individuals opened fire in a neighborhood bar in the town of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Rico Police Department has launched an aggressive investigation and is working with federal authorities, including the FBI and the DEA, to identify the gunmen in this case.

We will not tolerate this type of terrible criminal behavior and are pursuing every lead and every tool at our disposal to bring those responsible for this shooting to justice. We remain vigilant in our aggressive pursuit of drug traffickers and continue working closely with federal authorities to root out these criminals who attack our citizens.

Of those injured, six were treated and released by 7 p.m. Sunday night, and the rest of the injured victims are still under medical care and observation.
