NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is applauding the nomination of a senior member of the Annie E. Casey Foundation as CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), which among other things oversees AmeriCorps.
President Obama's recent nomination of Patrick Corvington to the important post offers strong leadership to the national service programs that CNCS oversees. "We have long been impressed with Patrick's creative thinking on issues surrounding nonprofits and the strategies that help them fulfill their missions and flourish," noted Michael Rubinger, LISC president and CEO. "That's in part because of LISC's long partnership with Annie E. Casey and our admiration for the work the foundation does. But it also reflects Patrick's strong leadership and cogent research around capacity-building. His is a significant and welcome perspective for all of us who care deeply about national service and its impact on families and communities."
