ATLANTA, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Air Quality Sciences, Inc. (AQS), a leading world authority on indoor air quality based in Atlanta, Georgia, announces the appointment of Hall Brodie, PE, as President of the AQS Building Consulting subsidiary (AQS-BC). In his role, Brodie will assume all general management and strategy responsibilities for the subsidiary.

Air Quality Sciences' BC subsidiary offers professional consulting, building science and industrial hygiene services related to: construction defects; occupant indoor air quality (IAQ) complaints resulting from odor, mold, chemical or allergen contamination; and green building practices, including LEED certification and commissioning. The AQS expertise is frequently sought for reliable independent evaluations to resolve conflicting opinions in arbitration and litigation and for high profile and highly complex IAQ cases. Air Quality Sciences consultants have investigated more than 1,000 sick buildings on six continents and have always been able to find the root cause of the problem.

Recognizing that proactive approaches are the most effective at preventing IAQ problems, AQS leads the industry in developing cost-effective building practices that promote good indoor environments. As the first national firm to offer GREENGUARD Certification for Buildings according to the newly announced ANSI national standard, AQS works with developers, owners and construction companies to protect their investments. This certification applies a series of best practices to the design, construction and operation of buildings to prevent moisture and mold intrusion.

Brodie has more than 30 years of relevant experience both domestic and international. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President with Atlanta-based Jordan Jones and Goulding, Inc., a highly respected professional engineering firm. Brodie holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and a master's degree in environmental engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is registered Professional Engineer (PE) and an active member of the Urban Land Institute and the National Society of Professional Engineers.

"AQS is thrilled to bring Hall Brodie on board to lead the Building Consulting team. His expertise in design, operations, management and commissioning in both the commercial and industrial sectors improves our position as the leader in both proactive and reactive indoor air quality issues. Hall's extensive experience and relationships in the civil engineering and real estate development fields make him a great asset to our team," said Tony Worthan, MPH, AQS President and Chief Operating Officer.
