CHICAGO, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced today that Arthur Don and Nancy L. Schimmel have joined the firm as shareholders in its Chicago office. As members of the Corporate & Securities Practice, Don and Schimmel provide added depth to Greenberg Traurig's experienced corporate team, which includes more than 350 lawyers nationally.
Don has built a sophisticated investment management practice and has deep experience in all aspects of representing investment companies. He regularly represents a variety of funds, investment companies, investment advisers, broker-dealers and public companies in an array of sophisticated securities transactions. Additionally, he represents issuers and underwriters in public offerings, advises independent directors on fiduciary duties, and advises clients on compliance policy issues. Don joins the firm from the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where he was a partner for more than 30 years (his former firm, D'Ancona & Pflaum LLC, merged with Seyfarth in 2003).
Schimmel brings extensive knowledge and technical experience in securitizations and complex financial transactions, including restructuring transactions. Her experience covers the negotiation and documentation of trade, health care, loan and lease receivables securitizations and structured financings. Schimmel's practice is accented by a background in secured and unsecured working capital and leveraged acquisition financings, as well as high-yield bridge and debtor-in-possession financings. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Schimmel was a partner in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins LLP for more than 20 years.
