MONTGOMERY, Ala., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Oasis Hotel, a luxury corporate and leisure travel property, is scheduled to open at VictoryLand Greyhound Park in Shorter, Ala., on Nov. 1. The hotel and an adjoining conference center will employ up to 150 people.
In related news, 25-year hospitality veteran Rusti Price has been named to oversee the Oasis Hotel as general manager. She most recently served as the director of sales and marketing for the Wynfrey Hotel at Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Ala.
Located just 18 miles east of downtown Montgomery, the state-of-the-art property will feature 300 luxury guest rooms and suites, a fine-dining restaurant called Whitfield's Steakhouse, O's Lobby Bar, and the O Brew cafe offering Starbucks coffees. An 80,000-square-foot conference center for groups of all kinds will open in late 2010. "The Oasis Hotel will be a state-of-the-art lodging and/or meetings option for corporate and leisure travelers and groups in the growing Montgomery area, or anyone traveling on I-85," Price said. "Gaming enthusiasts can enjoy the activities at VictoryLand, as well as the many nationally known attractions in Montgomery, Tuskegee and Auburn. The hotel will be at an upscale service level with luxurious bedding, large-screen TV's, and 24-hour guest room dining."
All hotel accommodations will include plush bedding, 32-inch LCD TV's, touch-screen phones, and 24-hour room service. Whitfield's Steakhouse will offer signature beef and seafood, as well as fine wines from an extensive wine collection. The hotel's conference center will be able to handle conventions, meetings, concerts and trade shows. The adjoining VictoryLand is open every day of the year.
