PLYMOUTH, Mich., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T* today announced recent contracts totaling $2.25 million for wireless and networking communications services with Plastipak, a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging and containers for many of the world's consumer products companies. The plastics company sought greater flexibility and convenience in working with employees, suppliers and customers.
Under the contract, AT&T will deploy its Virtual Private Networking (VPN) solution across Plastipak's international operations. Plastipak's new VPN service gives employees reliable access to its information and applications at anytime from Plymouth, Prague or anywhere else. It provides a solid yet flexible infrastructure that could position Plastipak for future technology innovations.
Plastipak also wanted anytime, anywhere connection while on the go - all from a single provider. Under an additional contract, AT&T will provide more than 1,000 smartphones and cell phones with quality wireless coverage worldwide, including voice service in more than 215 countries. U.S. employees will also have access to the nation's fastest 3G network with AT&T, further improving productivity and collaboration.
