ROCK THE VOTE Teams With HOORRAY and ZEMOGA to Give Young Web Users A MILLION REASONS TO VOTE(.com)

NEW YORK, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- "Give a Voice to Your Vote!" That's the rallying cry of A MILLION REASONS TO VOTE, a new initiative created by ROCK THE VOTE in partnership with HOORRAY.com, an innovative photo sharing and archiving website and the award-winning interactive agency ZEMOGA, INC. The campaign is designed to energize political discussion and get young people registered to vote in the weeks leading up to the November 4th election. To support this effort, the three organizations have teamed up to produce a revolutionary website, http://www.amillionreasonstovote.com, that allows young voters to share their personal reasons for participating in the democratic process.

The centerpiece of the site is the "Virtual Quilt," a unique digital artifact made up of thousands of "Patches" uploaded by users. Each "Patch" represents the single voice of an individual voter. Thanks to HOORRAY's groundbreaking technology, young voters can upload a photo and then attach a written and/or recorded audio message to the picture that explains their reasons for voting in the coming election. Users are encouraged to share their "Patch" with friends and family along with a message urging them to register to vote, and add to the digital dialogue.

As a further incentive to participate in this unique effort, visitors to the site will be offered a free custom-bound photo book that they can create at Hoorray.com. The initiative's ambitious goal is to have over a million patches in the "Virtual Quilt" by the time the election is decided on November 4th.

"A MILLION REASONS TO VOTE is our way of taking political discussion out of the rarified realms of the pundits and putting it back in the hands of the American public," explained DJ Edgerton, CEO of ZEMOGA and creator of the concept. "Our partnership with ROCK THE VOTE and HOORRAY allows the application to reach out to millions of young Americans and encourage them to make their voices heard. We believe that their individual stories are incredibly compelling and they will inspire their peers to participate in the electoral process."

"Blogs and other social media have changed the shape of political debate in this country," observed Kim Rogers of ROCK THE VOTE. "A MILLION REASONS TO VOTE will harness the power of HOORRAY's features and give young voters an exciting way to share their concerns and literally their voice, with the rest of the electorate. Every person has their own unique reason for voting and A MILLION REASONS TO VOTE will remind them just how important it is for their voice to be heard and their vote to be counted, and the first step to that end is registering to vote."

The initiative is already picking up steam as several high-profile voters, including Britney Murphy, li'l Romeo, and Kim Kardashian are already adding their "Patches," to the "Virtual Quilt." "In this Web 2.0 world, we all have a chance to communicate our beliefs and show what we stand for," concluded Edgerton. "Britney and li'l Romeo realize that this site is a chance for then to communicate directly with the American public, without any filter or media spin. It's our hope that millions of young people will join their voices in a national dialogue by visiting amillionreasonstovote.com and adding their patches today."
