ANDOVER, Mass., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Setting itself up for a record 2008, Sentillion, the company that created healthcare single sign-on, today announced strong first quarter performance. In Q1, Sentillion added new customers worldwide representing 108,750 new user licenses across its suite of identity and access management products for single sign-on, clinical workstations, user provisioning and virtualized remote access.

In Q1, leading healthcare organizations purchased Sentillion identity and access management (IAM) solutions for enterprise-wide implementations, including:

-- Baptist Health System (Birmingham, AL)
-- Hawaii Pacific Health (Honolulu, HI)
-- University of North Carolina Health System (Chapel Hill, NC)
-- University of Chicago Medical Center (Chicago, IL)

Underscoring the momentum in its business, Sentillion also reached several other key milestones in Q1, including:

-- Being ranked #1 in KLAS Enterprises' comprehensive healthcare industry
report comparing SSO and context management vendors' performance. The
Single Sign-On/Context Management Report (February, 2008) published by
the healthcare industry's leading independent research firm, utilized
surveys and interviews with 146 healthcare provider organizations and
cited Sentillion as the only vendor able to offer both SSO and context
        management, without requiring a partner.
    -- Introducing Sentillion Tap & Go(TM), a patent-pending, advanced
authentication capability that leverages standard passive proximity
cards to deliver the easiest sign-on process in the healthcare industry
today. Sentillion Tap & Go leverages the same badge that
organizations use for physical access so caregivers can use one badge
for entry into the parking lot, building access, as well as single
sign-on to a workstation. Several healthcare organizations are already
leveraging Sentillion Tap & Go, including Covenant HealthCare and
        Duke University Medical Center.
-- Having its SSO solution, expreSSO, selected by the largest NHS Trust in
the UK, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. After a highly
competitive review, Sentillion's SSO solution was selected because of
its performance, ease of use and low cost. expreSSO will be rolled out
        to 10,000 caregivers.
-- Receiving an additional U.S. patent for its context administration
technology. The patent covers core technology relating to the dynamic
configuration of information that allows applications to synchronize
context on any common piece of information like the patient, encounter
        or observation.

"We selected Sentillion's Vergence and proVision solutions to help us address caregiver satisfaction and workflow, streamline the account creation process and ultimately improve compliance both from a patient data privacy and user account management perspective," said John West, Chief Technology Officer, Baptist Health System. "We conducted a competitive review of the IAM products available and found that Sentillion's healthcare experience, understanding of our clinical applications, and the fact that we'd only have to work with one vendor presented the greatest benefits and the lowest-risk."

Sentillion's identity and access management solutions are the most widely deployed in healthcare and are used daily by more than 350,000 caregivers in 560 unique hospitals across North America and the United Kingdom, including Eisenhower Medical Center, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sisters of Mercy Health System, Sharp HealthCare and Texas Children's Hospital. Sentillion is responsible for the largest SSO deployment in healthcare, which presently provides access to 182 clinical applications for 42,000 users across 34 hospitals and continues to expand in all three areas.
