Visual Defence will integrate the video analytics system to the existing Alstom Control Center, alerting MTC Security Operators to critical security and passenger safety incidents occurring within the stations. "The main reason for the system is to prevent terrorism," said MTC officials(x). Adding, "We hope the system will also help detect people who venture into potentially dangerous subway tunnels for non-terrorist activities."
"Video analytics are increasingly becoming an important component of video surveillance systems," says Barry Tal, CEO for Visual Defence. "Visual Defence is extremely pleased to leverage its integration capabilities to allow MTC to take advantage of these advancing technologies within their existing surveillance infrastructure."
The project, beginning immediately, is scheduled for completion by Q1 2009.
