Customers are already using the new version's enhanced ability to track inmate financial obligations. The new JMS release also assists customers seeking to recoup inmate costs billable to other agencies and jurisdictions. And the system now features new functions related to inmate work programs.
"E*JUSTICE SYSTEMS(TM) is something we're constantly improving, and we continue to create and build new functions that help Agencies accomplish more through greater efficiency," said CrimeCog President and COO Joe McKeown. "This update allows us to meet customer demand for the automated tracking inmate accounts and obligations as well as recouping inmate costs from other organizations and Agencies."
The updated JMS helps customers define and track various types of inmate billing, from room and board to medical expenses, commissary purchases to damages and beyond. And jurisdictions can establish and customize rates for services as well as payment plans and options.
"CrimeCog's enhancements to their JMS, when fully implemented, will allow us to document and automate our billing systems, increasing efficiency, and allowing us to maximize our budget dollars," said Chief Deputy Marshall Weeks of Calhoun County, Michigan. "The new features will continue to improve our jail's efficiency. The support and responsiveness of the team at CrimeCog has been outstanding."
The enhanced JMS also automates the billing and processing of inmate payments for room and board. Once an individual is no longer in custody, the system can automatically create and send invoices and, when necessary, late notices.
In addition, the new release automates the process of tracking and billing non-local inmate costs to other jurisdictions and agencies such as the Federal Government's Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE). This is a valuable new function for customers, as the financial obligations of an agency like ICE to some localities can add up to millions of dollars per year.
"E*JUSTICE SYSTEMS(TM) was developed to help jurisdictions become more efficient and achieve greater success without increasing personnel costs," said CrimeCog's McKeown. "The new JMS enhancements continue to empower our customers and make their operations even more effective and efficient."
