AERC.com, Inc. Appoints William R. Smith as Vice President of Sustainability

Smith, CHMM as the Vice President of Sustainability with immediate effect. AERC has national service capabilities with nine regional facilities and plans for continuous expansion into new territories. Bill's priority initiatives will include working with the AERC management team regarding broadening service offerings through additional facility locations, leading the Company's existing quality control process, and ensuring that AERC / Com-Cycle continue to meet or exceed all local, state, federal and applicable trade specific regulations.

With over 20 years experience in the environmental arena, Bill has a broad background ranging from Superfund site remediation and ISO 14001 certifications, to hazardous waste, electronics and battery recycling. Bill is the architect of a downstream due diligence and risk management program that has been viewed by many as a leading model and best management practice in the E-scrap industry. This program was instrumental in helping one organization transform themselves from a $15 million/yr E-scrap company into a $100 million/year full service IT asset Disposition Company.

Bill has been a strong advocate for many companies in the development of national policy and voluntary standards in areas of regulatory compliance, management systems and recycling and speaks to audiences about these subjects on a regular basis. Bill holds a B.S. in Environmental Science with a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from Columbia Southern University. Bill's credentials also include his designation as a Master level Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and is a former RAB Certified ISO 14001 EMS Lead Auditor.
